Toshiba Excite 10.1-Inch 16 GB Tablet

* Looks very nice
* Light weight and thin
* Full-size SD Card Slot
* USB functionality
* Descent stereo speakers

* LCD Light Bleed
* Only "OK" battery life
*No SD Card Slot Cover (when in use)
* Considering specs (16GB model), could be a bit cheaper

1. There is a good amount of pre-installed junk on the device. Not that big of a deal since apps can be disabled in ICS.
2. The Charger is proprietary. It would be nice to charge over microUSB, but with the size of tablet batteries, it would take forever to fully charge, so it is understandable why it doesn't.

Samsung Galaxy Tab (10.1-Inch, Wi-Fi)

size, probably one of the smaller 10.1" mid level tablets
display is bright and crisp, text is very easy to read even when I have screen brightness all the way turned down
infrared sensor that can be used to control your home entertainment center (a very nice option if you don't have a cool awesome logitech harmony remote)
battery life has been great also among the top of the midlevel tablets(do a google search)

You can do an easy google search to see where the transformer shines where the galaxy doesn't and vice versa. Ultimately storage space wasn't a huge deal for me and I really have no need for an hdmi out.

* long battery charge time, not a big deal as I'm mostly going to recharge at night
* no stock HDMIout
* the wtf so tiny charging cord, I mean really who wants a short charging cord? Makes no sense
* no standard usb port, instead they have an apple like proprietary port
* feels like for the price there should be some kind of hdmi out and 32 gb of hard drive space instead of 16

Toshiba SatelliteC655D-S5540

Laptop

this laptop is low priced, but high powered.It is quick and clippy and I absolutely love having a number key pad.
Bad Thing is
it does not have a USB port on the right hand side of the laptop.

This would be a great laptop for a kid going off to college or any casual user to just have around the house.
BE WARNED: as with most new laptops these days, this one does not come with installation DVD's. That means that if you get a virus or something, you will not have a way to reinstall Windows. It does however have a method for MAKING a backup. I highly recommend that you do this IMMEDIATELY before using the laptop. When I did it, it required 5 (yes five) blank DVD's, so make sure that you have some on hand. If you skip this step, you will rue the day down the road. The fun part is that the printed instructions are pretty stupid and look to be generic for all Toshiba laptops. To make the backup do the following:

The reviews for its' predecessor (the NB205) had put that notebook on the top of most professional reviewers list. And, indeed in my own hands on tests, it was right at the top as well.
